FAQs
Q1. How do I use the Lief?
A. After intercourse and prior to standing, insert the Lief as you would a tampon and go about your planned activities.
Q2. How do I know the Lief is in the right position?
A. You’ll know the Lief is where it should be because you won’t feel it. If you do feel the Lief, simply push in a bit further ensuring the string remains outside your body.
Q3. Can leaking occur with the Lief?
A. Yes. That doesn’t mean that it isn’t working. Everybody is different. Depending on the amount of lubricant and semen present as well as the caliber of the vaginal vault some leaking can be expected.
Q4. Will it interfere with my active life?
A. No. The Lief is designed to encourage you to continue your activities but as mentioned above some leaking can occur.
Q5. How long do I leave the Lief in?
A. You can wear the Lief 2-4 hours. Everyone is different and your comfort level will determine the length of time you leave the Lief in place.
Q6. Does inserting the Lief hurt?
A. Not at all. There should be sufficient lubrication present during insertion to insure a comfortable application.
Q7. How do I care for my Lief?
A.
- Never share the Lief.
- Clean the Lief before and after every use: All you’ll need is a little warm water and soap. Hand sanitizers like Purell are usually too harsh and will damage the silicone which could cause product malfunction.
- Check the Lief for damage before every use.
- Use a water based lubricant such as Preseed, TTC Astroglide, or similar product to prevent the silicone from degrading and protect motile sperm.
- Store the Lief properly in a cool place out of direct sunlight.
Replace the Lief after every pregnancy. After a year (or less) of use, the Lief may begin to degrade. Even if there is no visible damage to your Lief, silicone can become more porous throughout the years.
Q8. Is pregnancy guaranteed with the Lief?
A. No. There are numerous variables involved in achieving conception. The Lief helps with one variable by lengthening the amount of time semen is in the desired space.
A. No. The vagina is a potential space that ordinarily collapses on itself. The Lief was designed to fit the largest community moms and moms to be as possible.
